Quebec has completed plans to solicit 450 MW of wind power projects, part of a drive to contract 800 MW announced earlier this year. "We will maintain long-term manufacturing and 800 jobs for the economic development of the Lower St. Lawrence and Gaspé region," said Natural Resources Minister Martine Ouellet. The government released draft regulations directing utility Hydro-Quebec Distribution to issue a call for tenders divided in two tranches.
