#Queensland #Weather #SeverWarning #QLD #CTCorp 7:25pm Update:~~SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for DESTRUCTIVE WIND, HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES For people in the Northwest and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Channel Country, Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts. Issued at 7:25 pm Friday, 5 December 2014. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the next several hours in the Northwest and parts of the Channel Country districts. Locations which may be affected include Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Boulia, Dajarra Hotel, Urandangie, Duchess Hotel, Selwyn and Mckinlay Roadhouse. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast districts. Locations which may be affected include Gympie and Toolara Forestry. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce destructive winds and large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields district. Locations which may be affected include Emerald, Clermont, Blackwater, Rolleston, Springsure, Capella, Dysart, Mantuan Downs and Carnarvon National Park. A particularly severe thunderstorm is currently approaching Emerald and Capella from the southwest. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 10:25 pm. At 7:25 pm Friday, 5 December 2014 a separate, more detailed Severe Thunderstorm Warning was current for the Southeast Queensland area (east of Dalby from Rainbow Beach to Stanthorpe). Refer to this product for more information. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureaus website at bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
