Queensrÿche - Queen Of The Reich. Ill never forget the first time that I heard this song. It was one of those moments, when you know that you just heard a new song/band that was going to be a game changer. It was 1983(my freshman year in High School) and I was listening to the radio, and believe it or not this local rock station that went by the call letters KKDJ (which is also the same station that I first heard both Gary Moores the End of the World, as well as Thin Lizzys Thunder and Lightning), played METAL. This was of course back in the early eighties, and Metal was becoming very popular at the time. I was completely blown away by this track (especially the vocals), and couldnt believe what my ears has just witnessed. After the track ended, I can still recall anxiously awaiting for the D.J., to say the name of the band. He first started out by saying that he thought the singer sounded a lot like a young Ian Gillan. So anyway,as soon as the disk jockey said the name of the band, I quickly wrote it down on a piece of paper. The following weekend I went to Tower Records, and bought the Queensryche E.P., the rest as they is history. My introduction, and still favorite, of all Queensryche records.
