Question ~ Could you please post- I really need some advice. Situation- my boyfriend, my son and I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment right now (we are looking to buy a house soon) in my grandmothers basement. She recently told me that I could go ahead and make a section of the basement on her side a room for my son and all his stuff. My boyfriend likes the idea and so does everyone else...except me. Im really freakin out just thinking about it. Why does he need his own room? Hes only 1. Hes not going to play in there, he cries anytime he cant see me and because of our situation his crib and been next to my bed since he was born. They want me to put him in a twin size bed in the other room and Im just not comfortable. They say isnt not normal for him to still be sleeping with me and not have his own space. What do you think? How do I get over this feeling? Am I supposed to put all his stuff in the room? Like everything? Right now all his toys are in my small living room. Will he use the room? Should I make him? Please help! Im very stressed. Side note- I grew up in a very abusive home with no father and a absent mother, so I parent and feel certain ways because of my traumatic childhood
