Question: Dr. John Pemberton invented Coca-Cola in which U.S. city, now home to a huge Coke museum? Answer: Coca-Cola was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 8, 1886. Dr. John Stith Pemberton, a local pharmacist, carried a jug of Coca-Cola syrup to Jacobs Pharmacy in downtown Atlanta, where it was mixed with carbonated water and sold for five cents a glass. In the first year, Pemberton sold just 9 glasses of Coca-Cola a day. Coca-Cola has grown to the worlds most ubiquitous brand, with more than 1.7 billion beverage servings sold each day. The World of Coca-Cola Coke Museum is located in downtown Atlanta and includes collections of memorabilia throughout Cokes history. Highlights of the museum include the bottling factory demonstration and a tasting room where you can sample over 60 different types of Coke drinks from around the world!
