Question: Even if we say that everyone has been given a chance, have some people being given a better chance? It still seems like Muslims have been given a better chance than non-Muslims at accepting and practising Islam. Answer: A simple example answers this question. Imagine to different people. One of them is given a book. The other is asked to decide between three different books. Yes, the second man had to take the extra step of choosing a book. Who then is more likely to open and read the book? To open the book and to read it requires thinking, reflection, assessment, appreciation. Full dedication and commitment. One cannot be a minimalist or an imitator. A true worshipper of God must always be advancing in the knowledge of God. But God is also aware of our individual levels. The exam is tailor made and he gives us everything we need to pass. Some people are given the book because God knows that they would never find it by themselves. The true exam is not trying to hold onto the book. It is that reading and studying the book. It is how we can increase our faith. We do not choose the circumstances in which we are born. When a child is born, before the age of rationality, it is considered innocent. Should they die before the age, they are guaranteed to enter paradise. This is true for Muslim and non-Muslim families. But what happens to the children who will grow up in non-Muslim families? There is no randomness in the world. Everything is under the control of God. There is infinite justice. There is equal chance. While the purposes of the world is to act as a proof to find the truth, and all proofs are equal. When a Muslim looks into the sky at night they can see the stars. When a non-Muslim looks into the same night sky, they are not presented with something different like cows instead of stars. The non-Muslim sees the same stars. Each object of creation is a letter to be read as a proof of the truth. These are the proofs that bring a person to the same conclusion of being a faithful worshipper of God, a Muslim. Once the proofs have been presented, a choice needs to be made. The test of faith has been tailor-made for everyone. Everyone has the same chance. But not everyone can achieve greatness. When the choice arrives, the person may make some calculations. If God is all knowing, then that person is fully responsible. Then the person must change their lives immediately and sometimes drastically to become not only a good person but a true worshipper of God. Then the calculation happens. If they become a worshipping practising Muslim, their family will be upset, they may not get the next job promotion, what will the friends say, the world seems to be harsher. A weak Muslim makes the same calculation. They believe that they can hold on to a comfortable life and pretend not to know about God. When they do that God will help them forget about it.
