Question? In the last 48 hours Kick Starter or Fund Me - TopicsExpress

Question? In the last 48 hours Kick Starter or Fund Me campaigns have been posted for 2 area venues. Before I continue let me 1st state Ive got no issues with those venues and how they conduct business. 1 of the venues is trying to raise $35,000 to do a complete build. I have the luxury of working with several locally owned venues. Most venues financially have good months and then bad months but are never rolling in the cash. I know at times venues can struggle to stay open till the next good month. With that being said just like most of us in our daily lives the venue owners have to decide when and where they can spend any extra money on upgrades and such. A new pa or lights would be nice or how about a new smoking deck? Its safe to say most venue owners have a wish list of things theyd like to improve or upgrade if and when the $ is there. Lots of times its not there so you just get by with the status que until you have the extra money. Now I see these 2 venues using Fund Me/Start Up campaigns to get the $ for their needs. I dont yet have a opinion on this as I understand the struggles venue owners have just to maintain and stay open. Question? Is it acceptable for venues to reach out to the public for financial assistance?
