Question: What do Art and Science, a Headteacher, a Barrister, an IT Consultant, a former Librarian and a former BBC Producer have in common? Answer: They have all been kind enough to volunteer their time to debate whether “Art enhances the quality of life for more people than Science”. This debate promises to be a lively and entertaining evening with Paul Dick, Headteacher of Kennet School and a Classicist, talking on the side of Science along with Dr. Nick Young, who is by profession an Electrical Engineer. Speaking on the side of the Arts is Sue Broughton, Chairman of Thatcham Historical Society, along with Canon David Winter, known to many of you as an author and one of the speakers on Radio Four’s “Thought for The Day”. Alex Payton, Barrister, will be ensuring that there is fair play and taking questions from the audience. So why not come along and take part? The event will take place on Thursday, 17th October at 7.00 pm at the Kennet School. The event is free, but tickets can be collected from the Family Bookshop in the Broadway, Thatcham.
