Question: Why were american aboriginals called RED INDIANS ? What is the difference between their identity as INDIAN v/s British Raj bestowed identity to a huge region in the subcontinent which was solely under their control (Excludes GOA and some other pockets of then) ? Who are Cherokee Indians ? Why do they have an identity called Indians ? In the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Canadas First Peoples are referred to as Indians, Inuit, and Metis.
