Question, and requesting opinions of all. Is the Republican party - TopicsExpress

Question, and requesting opinions of all. Is the Republican party going into a 5-10 or even a 15 plan to reclaim the traditional conservative/republican party from the right wing? Reasoning: By permitting the far right to effectively shut down government there will finally be a mechanism to combat future far right challenges for control of the party. Leadership has decided to let loose the fringe right and allow a devastating loss in the midterm elections that are up coming. In essence saying shut up or put up. If there is truly enough support for the far right position the traditionalist of the Republican party will lose in the next couple of primaries to sweep in the Tea Party supporters. If the support is truly marginal then the Tea Party wing will like wise lose in the primaries. Lets leave out the political action committee money for just a bit. Does the idea of the battle for ideological center of the Republican Party have merit? Your thoughts.
