Question by rt: Got major pc problems.. anyone know of a truly FREE PC Registry Error Scan and Fix out there? I am having major issues with my computer right now and I hesitate to reinstall my Windows XP .. simply because I am not sure how or what to do to make it come out fixed. I have downloaded 2 software scan and fix errors that will scan my pc and then when they get to the part where it is fix them time.. they want money.. that is sneaky.. But any program that cleans your registry is risky: You have about 1 in 10 chance of messing up your computer with this. Fortunately, ccleaner lets you back up your registry before changing it. If something goes wrong, you can double click on the backup to restore things to the way they were. ccleaner is also great for deleting temporary files, internet chaches, and other miscellaneous junk.
