Question for BIRTHRIGHT participants and/or their parents: In 1984, I was awarded a scholarship by UJA in NJ for USY Israel Pilgrimage, with the intent that Id give back. This year, my 16yo so received a generous NFTY scholarship with specific expectations of his give back. Likewise, there are expectations from participants on subsidized trips from Hadassah, Federation and others. QUESTION FOR YOU: Does Birthright have any stated or written expectations? After your trip, did you feel compelled to give back? Im not judging, really. Im fact finding for a very specific purpose and would appreciate your input. PM me if youd rather not post publicly.
