Question for Chad Daniels, posting it here because I think we can all benefit from seeing his answer: Is it your purpose to condemn Arminianism by linking it with other views commonly thought to be heresies? If so, there are a number of logical problems with doing that. Assuming you succeeded in pointing out similarities, your argument would simply be a case of guilt by association and have nothing to do with the merits of either idea. If you succeeded in showing a historical link between Arminianism and a heresy, that would be an instance of the genetic fallacy, and would also sidestep any treatment of the merits of either idea. There are many other problems with doing this that you might check for here https://bookofbadarguments/ but all of them boil down to an attempt to illicit and appeal to fear. Concern yourself with what is true from scripture and let the chips fall where they may from there. Anything else is rather sloppy sophistry.
