Question for Live Music Fans in Second LIfe: When you are sitting around thinking..hmm...I want to go to a concert, which things figure in strongest about which concert you will go to? Similar to the list I previously made for factors relating to how a musician chooses a venue, I made a list this time for music lovers to rate. Either reorder this list based on importance to you or rate each line with a 1-5 with 1 being not a factor at all, 5 being critically important, 3 being neutrality. Maybe you will think of some to add yourself! As a follow up, does the decision making differ if its a real life instead of virtual show? Reasons to choose to go to a concert or not: ~How artful/original the musician is ~The technical skills of the musician, their general musicology ~The personality of the musician ~The sound quality of the musicians set-up ~The consistency of the musicians set list/style ~The variety and expansiveness of the musicians set list/style ~You can always count on them bringing something fresh to their show ~You can always count on them to deliver the same thing-its a sure thing ~How you will feel when you hear them, they know all your favorite songs ~The way they engage the audience between songs ~The ratio of between song banter and number of songs performed ~The mood you are currently in matching with the mood the musician consistently delivers ~The mood you are currently in will likely be altered by the musician ~Who you will likely run into there, the social climate ~If the musician takes requests ~How danceable the music is ~Your personal relationship (real, perceived, or desired) with the musician ~Preference for a particular genre, regardless of who is playing ~How danceable the music is ~How big you can expect the crowd to be, so you can be part of something popular and happening ~How big the crowd is expected to be, so you can slip in and slip out unnoticed without worrying about hurting anyones feelings (venue owner or musician) ~How small the crowd is so you can experience a more intimate show, and relate more directly with the musician ~You are friends with the venue owner/feel loyalty to the venue ~You consider the venue your SL home and show up and stay regardless of who is performing ~How much pressure you feel to tip the musician, venue, staff while there ~How attractive or unappealing the venue is/venue theme ~How much lag there is likely to be
