Question for my fellow Shenmue fans: My sister ruined the original copy of Shenmue my family had about 10 years ago. Since then Ive been searching for another copy that was affordable and playable. I found a copy this week and purchased it. The discs look great with just a few small, superficial scratches. The game plays well except for one, small issue. It auto skips dialogue! When Ryo talks to NPCs, his and their dialogue are cut off mid-sentence. It doesnt make the game unplayable. Just frustrating. I havent played the first game in years and I want to hear the dialogue! Has anyone else had this issue? What could be causing this? I popped Grandia II into my Dreamcast and it works great, no dialogue skipping. The Shenmue discs have very few scratches and none of them are deep. Could those be causing the skipping? Its every single conversation! Im still on the first disc. Thanks!
