Question for the group: Ive been walking, on average, 3-6 miles daily, for 4-6 days a week since late May. I started jogging incrementally about 5 weeks ago and quickly blew out the inner heel of my older Nikes. I bought two new pairs of shoes to rotate ( Nike Xoom, and a pair of Mizuno Wave Creation). Both pairs are more fitted than the old Nike and Ive developed a deep bruise on the back of my left rear ankle, yet its not been too sore. Today that area was really tender, but I pushed through it, walking my first ten minutes or so, then completely forgot about it during the next three miles til I started cool down. After resting, I now am swollen, with a knot in that back muscle and it hurts to walk if I flex that foot. Any tips, or recommendations, as Im still fairly new with all of this?
