Question for the masses.... This question is for those who are VOLUNTEER ONLY. Does anyone work for their county as a volunteer? Did you have to be approved by your County Commissioners, Director of EMS or the Chief/Captain of your station? In my county you now have to be approved by the commissioners to volunteer. Also no trucks are allowed to leave the station unless its a run. They must remain off the road and can no longer participate in parades, which we have MANY each year nor can they be used to transport for training. This includes our suburbans. Volunteers in my county are paid as independent contractors. Does anyone else have any similar experiences such as this? Thank you for reading this. You guys totally rock! JC
