Question for the podcast. Robert M. Price, hopefully you can help with this! I was hoping you could give some insight into this peculiar thing I noticed about an hour ago. I brought it up to Chuck Shingledecker and he said it was worth mentioning to you Bob. It has to do with the earliest accounts telling us that Jesus was dead after six hours on the cross. For some reason, I thought to add, and he rested on the seventh. Now, is it mere coincidence that God (Jesus?) created everything in six days and rested on the seventh? To the best of my knowledge, no one was around counting how long Jesus was alive on the cross. It very well might be possible that he lasted exactly six hours on the cross, but it doesnt seem likely to me. It seems most likely to me that the earliest authors of the gospel narrative had no idea on this information and thus filled it in with a theologically significant and clever time. Thoughts?
