Question for the wine lovers out there: Our red wine tonight had a brownish tint and was a little fizzy (not a sparkling wine, I should note), and did not taste very good. Yes, Im sure you are right, it must have been corked. Nearly a tenth of all bottles with a natural cork are, Ive been told. But what would you do if youd paid good money for a bottle of wine and it turned out to be spoilt? In a restaurant, I would send it back, without hesitation. But to take it back to the grocery store or wine merchant... seems a little tacky, no? Is it just a risk one has to take?
