Question from Laura: I have had a wedding scheduled since February and the wedding is in October. I received the half down deposit in March, but since then I have asked several times for us to meet in person and go over things. I didnt charge her much because she is going to have a second shooter. I am now 5 months pregnant (which she has known from the day I found out I was expecting) but now she says I cant do what she hired me for because I am pregnant and is going to take me to court for her deposit back. Something I knew, but didnt do, was get a written contract. I was thinking its so cheap that I really didnt need it. I feel like I dont need to refund her deposit because I didnt quit on her, she fired me because I am pregnant. And now she is requesting that I lay on the ground to get shots and stand high on a ladder. I was more then happy to do the wedding, but wont go out of my way to harm myself and unborn child. So should I return the deposit or refuse to?
