Question from Rebecca I’m hoping to hear from Mum’s who - TopicsExpress

Question from Rebecca I’m hoping to hear from Mum’s who have attempted a vaginal delivery after previously experiencing a difficult/traumatic singleton labour. My first baby born at 38w, weighed 8lb12o, moderate shoulder dystocia, requiring intubation (ventilator) and flown to a NICU hospital. I subsequently had 1.5lt blood loss and didn’t see my son for 3 days. After much deliberation, they felt for my second pregnancy the baby was smaller and attempted induction at 39w, born 8lb exactly, posterior and requiring forceps in theatre – he required breathing assistance for 5 mins, but was with me after 1 hour in SCN (I also experienced a 500ml bleed). Despite my births, the obstetricians feel I’m a good candidate for a vaginal delivery as they expect babies to be smaller. While I’d rather avoid a c-section, I’m extremely scared about complications arising with a natural labour due to the high risk nature of a twin delivery and my previous experiences. My second labour was certainly a better experience for me and had he been facing anterior, I possibly would have had a very quick, uneventful labour. However, I’m still very scared and unsure what to decide. Thanks to anyone who is happy to share. Bec NOTE: Currently 32weeks with b/g twins - twin a head down, twin b transverse.
