Question from a Lunchbox Doctor friend: Hello lunchbox doctor! I was hoping you can help me please. I have been looking at healthy baking recipes calling for coconut butter, almond butter, coconut sugar etc, can you recommend anywhere where these sorts of products can be bought that wont cost an extortionate amount, and also recommend particular brands? I know to look for raw and organic, but other than that I am quite new to this and dont want to buy something rubbish! thank you x I buy mine at health food stores, online at places like Goodness Direct or I have found a market stall selling these sorts of foods at wholesale prices. This is in St.Albans but I am not sure where you are based. Some things such as coconut butter and almond butter can be made yourself from desiccated coconut and plain almonds. The coconut sugar and other less refined sugars tend to only be available in the places mentioned above. Raw and organic are ideal but not always affordable. I use a mixture of things. For example nuts and some flours, chickpeas, ghee and even coconut milk can be cheaper in Asian stores but not always organic. Hope that all helps. Please could you help with your own answers to this question? Thanks!
