Question from a #boymom: My 13 year old son has recently discovered that girls are awesome! My husband and I have always been really close with all three of our boys, and we dialogue constantly about everything, including girls and relationships. We were recently made aware that our 13 year old and a girl in his class both liked each other. No big deal, but when we asked him about it, he denied it...several times. He finally admitted that it was true, but he was horrified for us (or anyone, for that matter) to find out. He says he feels completely awkward even talking about it, and he knew if we brought it up, we would periodically be discussing it. We feel that, as he progresses and is interested in getting to know girls, accountability is key in sustaining purity and honoring God. Even when we explained that, he said that he is not comfortable talking to anyone - including us.To all you mammas out there who have navigated these waters, how should I respond?
