Question from a reader: I got my daughter at 7 adopted her at 9. She is now 14. Over the years we have had a great relationship except for when she was 11 she got mad over me taking her phone away and told her teacher I was physically abusing her. I was hysterical cried and cried. We went thru a 4 month investigation. She apologized and life went on. At 13 once again she got mad over not wanting to wear snow boots and again called DCF and alleged physical abuse. Same process again. 3 month investigation my other kids interrogated etc. This time I was upset I told her she could not do this again. She promised to never do it again. Three weeks ago I punished her for skipping school and she ran away. Went to police and said I was abusing her. I feel she is mature enough now to know better. I am furious. My husband. Other kids and myself are so mad we havent talk to her in 3 weeks! Has anyone experience this? We are so hurt/mad that I dont know if things will ever be normal again. Also I dont trust her now and feel afraid to discipline her for fear of what she will make up next. Your thoughts or comments?
