Question from me (Jacqueline)... Lets talk riding the school bus. Traditionally I have never been a fan of the bus. This comes from my own experience. Growing up I rode the bus my entire childhood, and once we got to middle school it was a hour ride each way because we were bused to the next town over. Nothing ever good happened on the bus. Fast forward to my own kids and when my son was in kindergarten (daughter was in 1st) they were begging me to let them ride the bus. I let them. A couple of weeks into it my son was bullied. They have assigned seats and for some reason my kindergartner was put in a seat with a 3rd grader and a 5th grader (both bullied the little guy). The school addressed it immediately, so I have no complaints there. But my son never wanted to get back on the bus. Now they are in 3rd and 4th grade and they are interested in trying it again (my daughter didnt want to stop). Im thinking about letting them start the bus tomorrow. But Im curious to see what experiences other parents have with their kids taking the bus. I certainly wouldnt mind saving the from doing drop off/pick up is, so that part sounds great to me. What have been your experience with your children taking the bus? Thank you! ;)
