Question of the Day June 9 Zimbabwes president Robert Mugabe last - TopicsExpress

Question of the Day June 9 Zimbabwes president Robert Mugabe last Friday branded his information minister a devil incarnate, accusing him of appointing editors of state-owned newspapers who were sympathetic to the opposition. Mugabe said Jonathan Moyo, appointed information minister last year, was using the government-controlled newspapers to sow divisions. The hint of possible succession for Mugabe is already heating the polity. While the veteran leader, who has ruled Zimbabwe since independence from Britain in 1980 said the contest to is open to all ZANU-PF leaders, Vice-President Joice Mujuru and Justice Minister Emmerson Mnangangwa are seen as the frontrunners. The battle to succeed the 90-year-old Mugabe has sucked in the state-owned press and we ask in our question of the day: Should civil servants by any chance be seen engaging in partisan politics or remain politically neutral as demanded by the civil service rules? Go to our Facebook Page at TVCNEWS AFRICA, or our Twitter page at TVCNEWS_AFRICA, where you can join the conversation and leave your comments. You can also access the question on our website at tvcnews.tv. Your comment may be among those to be read live during our bulletin at 1900 Central African Time on Monday June the 9th.
