Questions have come up concerning my previous postings about Butterball turkey shortages and the possibility of Halal (Islamic) processing. A friend emailed the company and received a reply which left some questions. Further, according to a news report, Butterball says that a great number of their turkeys have not gained the usual weight this year. I have posted this article concerning Halal preparation. You will see that animals are fed a different diet when they are bred for Halal preparation. The animal must have been fed a natural diet that did not contain animal by-products. This would forbid a certain weight gain. Should there be questions about this issue, please remember that I have followed this previously in England, where Halal has become more common than is generally suspected. Also note in this article that Allahs (Gods) name must be pronounced during slaughter. This is an Islamic blessing in the name of their false god. Islam is busy instituting Halal preparation in the US. I have caught several items branded as such. If Butterball is holding back specially fed turkeys for Halal slaughter, it does not have to be with their brand. It would also create an unprecedented shortage of weighted birds. Simply be aware. You have not heard the last of this issue. It is a growing Islamic industry in the west. thekitchn/good-question-what-is-halal-me-60979
