Quezons Hermano Pule, even before the execution of the 3 GOMBURZA priests, there were already thousands of followers to the cause or advocacy of Hermano Pule who was then advocating for the recognition of equal rights of filipino secular priests to be assigned in the parishes as Pastors, and not as mere assistants. Hermano Puli the first filipino Crusader of religious freedom died a Martyrs death. In Nov 1, 1841, he was captured in Barangay Gibanga, Sariaya; on November 2, was tried, convicted of the crimes of sedition and treason under the provisons of the Spanish Penal Code, was sentenced to death, executed near the town Hall of Tayabas. Hermano Pules head was hung on a pole, opposite his house in Lucban. His hands and feet were gruesomely displayed at the four corners of Lukban. On November 4, 1841, 4 thousand of his followers were massacred. Hermano Pule advocated the right of every man to worship God according to his conscience. He remained until now an unsung Hero.
