Quick Help Needed! 1975 Grand Lemans stock Pintuac 350 4bbl. Car was running and driving 35 mph and then engine promptly died - bam - aftermarket tach showed 0rpm. Could swear I concurrently smelled electrical for a brief moment. Not overpowering like if it was from insude car or under dash; more faint. No stumble at the die moment like a fuel prob, gauge reads 1/2. No mechanical noise at the time. Got off street and am troubleshooting. First got a can of gas and tried putting some down carb and then cranking to see if it at least fired up or tried to, but not even trying to fire. Would seem electrical. No recent underhood work done, no changes, no recent issues prior to this. HEI dist. Have my basuc to set with me fortunately. Unplugged Batt wire connection from distributor cap. Measures 12v with key off. Turn key to on (not cranking position) and volt reading on distributors Batt wire went to zero. This doesnt make sense to me?
