Quick Kenya update before heading to Tanzania tomorrow: Ive heard - TopicsExpress

Quick Kenya update before heading to Tanzania tomorrow: Ive heard over 25 pitches over the last three days and, as usual, was extremely impressed with the energy and optimism of the SEMBAA students. Everything from greenhouses, to aps, to livestock, to security, to health, to latrines. to biogas, to aquaponics, to quail, to.... well, you get the idea. These students are not limiting themselves to a narrow range. The GSSE certificate here at USIU becomes a concentration in their MBA in January, at which point we expect to have 70 students in the program. The big challenge is incubation, so the USIU faculty and administration and I spent a lot of time on fundraising strategy. Despite the fire at the airport and the tragedy at Westgate Mall, Kenyans are moving forward with a sense of purpose. If anything, these setbacks have brought them together and hardened their resolve. African Tiger? It sure feels like it.
