Quick Question: 1000s users, 100s chatrooms (static/history), with private chat (offline messages).... To be integrated into pseudo single page web application... possible desire to have push notifications/ability tap into the chat in the future. Is this possible with Node.js and using a cloud based server (AWS)? What other technologies would we best utilize? What other programming technologies should we consider? (python? XMPP?... keep in mind we would like to be able to use web, mobile apps, desktop/taskbar catcher) Are there any good examples of this out there? If you want the ideal chat system think chatango.
