Quick facts: Site C Dam would generate 1,100-megawatts Total of all BC hydroelectricity: 77,000-megawatts Total amount of hydroelectricity BCHydro agreed to give to LNG: 20% (15,400 megawatts) Taxpayer costs: -$9BILLION+ to build the dam -$116 million dollars worth of “royalty credits” to the natural gas players. -28% increase in monthly utility rates as well as increase in medical premiums, camping and ferry fees, and taxpayer funded litigation to oppress the opposition. -WHO KNOWS how many MILLIONS in trades training grants and science world seminars and industry field trips for kids as young as 10 to increase skilled workers for LNG demand. All worth it if we can gets jobs to fill our pockets back up after they get emptied out right? Who cares if BCs emissions go from 60-90 megatonnes a year. Who cares if BC has the lowest paid teachers and a deteriorating education system and most poor children in Canada (1 in 5 of them live in poverty!). Or if we lose prime agriculture and tourism and wildlife migration and breeding ground or food security or liberty. Or if we fall to last place on global renewable revolution. Whatevs lol
