Quick medical update - 1:10am, Monday morning, 01/27/14 Nothing much new to report, so Im just going to copy/paste the update I texted to family who I was checking in with a moment ago. So there may be some of this update which refers to a thing I hadnt yet shared, but none of it is a big deal or anything important to have missed since it was only very minor trouble which was fixed very quickly & easily. Heres whats what for the late Sunday night / early Monday morning update on Wifes condition. Just keep praying for things to stay on track as they are now - weve got her to a good place and hope to keep her in that place so she can improve steadily. Still the same in general as last night & today.. Stable, not tolerating movement well so they have been just using the beds rotation-type turning throughout the day and will only be turning her in full when absolutely necessary for the moment. But otherwise shes steady and holding all her numbers in good condition where they have been. Her pO2 got back up to above that 65 threshold they were shooting for (actually it was 70 at the last blood gas so thats good) as a result of turning the vent to 80 last night. So its still running at 80 since thats keeping her in good shape. The goal for tonight, according to the RN handling her for 3rd shift, is to leave her alone mostly (meaning not messing about with meds or air flow, not leaving her literally alone in the room of course) so she can have a night of good oxygenation and rest during which to keep the fight focused on healing while we can rather than on adjusting to changes made for the sake of oxygen saturation improvement. Obviously, if such changes need to be made they absolutely WILL be, but at the levels shes showing tonight theyre comfortable (as am I) with waiting and not trying to push anything higher so she can get some time to spend a night focused solely on healing the root problems rather than new symptom management measures. PS - its too cold out to take off gloves and no phone signal in the waiting area, so that text and the rest of this update have all been dictated rather than typed. So if any of it has oddly placed words that make it confusing, its just from a robot not understanding what I said rather than from something extra-complicated or scary happening to require confusing explanations.
