Quick question, have any of you/your children ever had the blood test they do to check for tumors? My grandmother gets a PET scan every 3 months to make sure the uterine cancer is in remission. This scan has always picked up a small spot on her lung which has not grown since the first time it was seen. Oncologist was saying it was a slow growing lung cancer and at her age she would die from natural causes before the cancer would show symptoms, however, this past appointment they did this new blood test that checks for tumors and it came back negative for any tumors. Does this mean that the spot in her chest is something besides cancer or its so small the test isnt picking it up? My grandmother wont let my mom come in to the appointment with her and my grandmother is very forgetful now so not sure info we are getting is accurate or if something is being left out. My grandmother does not want my mom to talk to the doctor.
