Quick question...may come with controversial responses, however... Whats wrong with T.I. receiving The Key to the City? Heres my opinion... YES, Im a big fan of T.I. and anybody who knows me knows this. But heres what I think...T.I. has served his time for crimes committed. He has a successful and positive family oriented show, The Family Hustle on VH1. Plus he travels the country speaking to youth about the consequences of his actions, what hes doing to not repeat the same mistakes or negative behavior, violence and gun control. I think its deeper than him being a rap artist, but remember hes so much more... a mentor, entrepreneur, actor, writer... the media often show the negative and too little is there ever awesome stories or praises for those doing good in anybodys community. So why not? Is it because hes a rapper? Is it because of the crimes hes committed and paid for? Is it because hes not a native of Jackson,MS? ON THE FLIP SIDE... Why arent we presenting more Keys to the City to those who live, work and pay taxes in the same community in which they are actively promoting, mentoring, and teaching positive and growth among out youth and within our community as a whole?
