Quick update on our trip yesterday to MSKCC. Briannas appointments took wayyyyy longer than expected. We left home yesterday around 5:30am and got back just after 10pm. The doctors are concerned with a 15lb weight loss (which she can not afford - shes almost under 100lbs) since August when we last went. They will be testing her for HyperThyroid. Between the weight loss, and a few other symptoms they feel it should be looked into further. Luckily, the initial blood work done yesterday looked good though. We did receive some bummer news - she is unable to have direct contact with her donor. Most transplant recipients can get their donors info and contact them after a year, but because Briannas donor came from out of the county, she had to wait two years. The 23rd of November was two years, so we expected to get the information. Unfortunately her donors donation center has a no contact policy. I wish this was something we were informed of two years ago so we werent expecting to contact him. Brianna was super bummed, as was I. Everything else went well - we left the city around 4pm and it took six hours to get home, two of those hours were going about 5 miles and hour out of the city. Never trying to get out at rush hour on a Friday again!! We had such an amazing time with Nicole Gauldin-dukes and baby Jason. His smile was infectious and I could see Onja through this eyes just sending me some love Nicole, even though she slept almost the whole ride there, was her funny self keeping us entertained. I absolutely love her to death and am so thankful we had the day together yesterday, and again TODAY!!
