Quick update on the cruise: Yesterday... Saw Down after lunch by the pool in sweltering heat... sounded amazing, despite Phils hangover! Caught Phils old bandmate Rex in Kill Devil Hill... Had a nice sit down dinner with the band... and later caught Danko Jones, before heading over to take in some of Motorheads set in the big theater. On a boat! Ducked into my cabin to call Renee and catch up, thinking it would be nice and quiet... Nope. My whole room was vibrating to Motorhead! She couldnt hear the thumping through the phone, though - it was so good to hear her voice. I ventured out to the pool stage again to check out Metal Allegiance, an all-star cover band that filled in for Megadeth at a moments notice, including guys from Anthrax, Megadeth, Testament, Mike Portnoy, John Tempesta, and more... For the encore, Phil and Rex from Pantera came out and did a mini-set of Pantera songs - people were losing their shit - pretty crazy. The guys coming off stage were completely ecstatic - I dont think anything like that has ever happened before! Awesome. Turned in early to be in good shape for today. This morning... Got up early... We were supposed to host a Bloody Mary Bingo party in one of the lounges... Some people showed up, but there were no cards or pencils, so everyone got free Bloody Marys - nice! Everyone wins! I chatted with some people for the hour, and then made it down to the excursions desk - some of us are doing a diving helmet experience in 2 hours - stoked! Well make it back for soundcheck, dinner, and then our first gig is tonight at 11 after everyone gets their tequila on in Cozumel and reboards the boat!
