Quick video of Kasey Harling performing what I would consider a textbook push-up. I know its only a push-up but if they are constantly done incorrectly the shoulders may suffer and you may not be getting the full benefit from the movement. Notice Kaseys neutral spine alignment (especially through his neck), his midsection and glute engagement, and his hand placement under the shoulders. Interestingly, he doesnt go all the way to the ground as that may create some anterior glide of the upper arm/shoulder which can cause impingement and consequential pain.
