Quietly going through some issues of my own, a few years back i was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), a disease which is mostly hereditary and can rear its ugly head after lying dormant for many years. Up until i was 30 i had know idea i was going to suffer greatly at the hands of this potential killer. If left untreated, the inflammation psoriasis causes, internal or external can led to many kinds of debilitating side effects, even death. I went to a heart doctor awhile ago, complaining that i was suffering from palpitations of an unknown origin, i could be doing things alittle differently i thought, but lets get confirmation on the facts. After a few screenings, it was obvious that i had alot of inflammation, so i wasnt only hiding a few blotches of rashy-flakey skin anymore. By that time i was going to a dermatologist who had my woes cured with topical salutations for my skin disorders that seemed promising. So i started putting 2+2 together, and reasoned on alot of my problems could be steaming from a monster that has been creeping slowly towards making my life hell for as long as ive been alive. All of my internal organs could be in jeopardy, stop-quick-self-analysis. Hmmmm, ya know, my finger nails did start looking weird, little dots started making there way, embedding themselves in my left ring finger and left big toe, i was always bound for ugly feet i thought, my uncles where hideous from what i seen of his growing up. But this process of Psoriasis has a defining attribute which is a version of and a sign of a developing type of Arthritis (PsA), and its called pitting. And its a sign of when the Psoriasis gets into your joints and bones. LOOK AT THE PIC, my knees and wrists could look like this without a treatment called Infusion. Infusion introduces a very common medication for this type of disorder called, Remicade. And basically what it does is, its an inter-venally admitted, and takes up to 3 hours to be applied into the body, and is administered 3 times once every two weeks, and then once every eight months for the rest of my life. And it suppresses an over active immune system that overproduces and cause most of my developing problems, inflammation, pitting, aches in the joints, and red rashy skin. Mine tends to migrate towards places on my head, back and facial hair. I thought man, i wish i didnt have hair cause then the hair wouldnt soak up all my nutrients to stay healthy, my skin is getting dried out. All this sounds really blaza, i know. But ive made a commitment to getting the treatment which promises anywhere from 75% recovery for 3 out of 5 patients within 3 treatment, and 90% recovery for 2 out of 5. Ive already received my first treatment and go again Thursday for the second of the 3 initial treatment. I feel pretty good about my decision and cant wait to feel good about the summer again.
