Quilter Artist Spotlight: Stephen Gibb Band: Barry Gibb-BeeGees barrygibb/ Quilter gear: ToneBlock 200 Quote: The Tone Block 200- this little bastard beat out every tube amp in the studio. We were all scratching our head. Apparently, good things do come in small packages and sometimes even simple packages. My tube amps are getting pretty lonely since I plugged in the Tone Block. Biography: Born December 1st 1973, in London, England, Stephen Gibb is a singer, songwriter, producer, guitarist and bassist who also happens to be the first born son of Barry Gibb. Stephens musician skills has been sharply honed by his lifetime exposure to the touring life of his father with the Bee Gees and the recordings and productions being done at the world-renown (now defunct) Middle Ears Studios. From banging those low notes as bassist in Black Label Society, to guitarslinger in Crowbar, 58 (a side project with Motely Crues Nikki Sixx and producer Dave Darling), and Hatebreeds Jamey Jastas project Kingdom of Sorrow, and Jasta, Stephen has played with rock royalty to metal mavens. Stephen is currently writing songs with his father as well as touring as a member of Barry’s band. When not working with dad he continues to write and record songs for others in several genres. Stephens writing chops go back to co-writing with Barbra Streisands Guilty Pleasures to recent releases with country superstar Ricky Skaggs. Looking to express his creativity where he has complete control to go in any direction he wants, Stephen will will release his first collection of songs in the 4th quarter of 2014. “Given where I come from and what I’ve experienced both musically and personally throughout my life, my hope is that people are going to be genuinely intrigued by what I will contribute to todays exciting musical landscape” says Stephen.
