Quincy, Kesas brother-in-law who was just diagnosed with - TopicsExpress

Quincy, Kesas brother-in-law who was just diagnosed with advanced-stage colon cancer, is coming out of surgery right now and the cancer is much worse than the doctors thought. Please help hold this family in love today -- Quincy, Kari, their two kids Kaleb and Khloe, Mnikesa, their mom and others. It may not seem like much, but these next few days will take courage, and I know it will mean a lot to know there are tens or hundreds of people who love them and are standing beside them -- some they dont even know. It strikes me that miracles dont always (or often) come in the form we expect. Sometimes we hope and pray for the kind of miracles that happen *to* us -- when the seemingly impossible becomes possible, or a divine power intervenes. But theres another kind of miracle that lies more in us seeing what was previously unseen. Willa Cather talks about the miracle of our perceptions being made finer, so that our eyes can see and our ears can hear what has been around us always. As we hold this hurting family today, I wonder what kind of miracles are possible simply in our holding. Im seeing the miracle of my own family, and how I couldnt be more grateful that we get to journey alongside each other, and support each other whole-heartedly. It makes a lot of the other stuff in my life -- all the stress and struggle and worries and complaining that I sometimes give my attention to -- seem so much less interesting. And it makes what I am truly here to contribute seem so much more.
