Quite a refreshing and honest interview. Actually feel quite a degree of empathy with Gerard, although his description of clutching at straws, hoping for favours actually makes him eligible to play for Scotland! Suspect he will retire but wonder if he could become a non-playing mentor. All teams need a clear out from time to time but connecting the near past to the near future is never a bad thing.
