Quite frequently my mother-in-law used the expression all stoved up. Until I married Bill, I had never heard the term. I came to understand that it was mountain language for being ill, or having bodily aches and pains from a fall or over exertion. Out walking the dogs on Saturday, I took a tumble down a hill and ...well.., to quote my favorite mother-in-law, Im all stoved up. My remedy... Being Still, Prayer, Naproxen, Aspercream, and Prayer. (I know I probably need to walk the soreness out, but until the back pain lets up... Ill just stay still) ;)
