Quite possibly my favorite song, or among them at least. This song is about Russian Roulette, and Ive read its inspired by the famous tense scene in The Deer Hunter where POWs in the Vietnam war are forced to play Russian Roulette against each-other, including childhood friends turned soldiers played by Christopher Walken and Robert De Niro. Anyways, this song really delivers the same intensity that scene had. Its great because you can interpret this song to describe any great gamble we take in life that puts our well-being or future on the line. The gripping feeling of fear that one could end up in the numbing cold blue or the red of Hades grill at any fraction of any given second is a feeling many Americans have been facing economically for the last 5 years or so. Its more relevant than intended, or maybe that was its intention. Once again Gar Samuelsons Jazz attack over Daves speed metal fury. Jrs bass is solid yet blends with Gars fusion. And of course Chris Poland on fire. Doesnt get better than this.
