Quote for the Day: It’s Friday again! What great books are my friends currently reading? And what fun things do you have planned for this special holiday week-end? And if you have a favorite author please tell me a little about him/her and what they have written. I so enjoy discovering “new to me” authors, and many of the best recommendations have come from my friends as we talk books every Friday. I have really appreciated the fine writing skills of “new to me” author, Chris Bohjalian, this past week. And as I finish his newest novel, “The Light in the Ruins” today, I have already decided to read everything that Bohjalian has written. I can’t think of a better way to spend those worst months of winter when I am virtually housebound. And lucky me…my wonderful local library has all his books. In the meantime I have selected a 2008 book, “Just Breathe” by Susan Wiggs, an author that I have enjoyed for many years, to keep me company this week-end as Matt and I enjoy some fun “end of the summer” adventures. Well, technically it isn’t the end of the summer, but it always feels that way after Labor Day. Enjoy the gorgeous weather wherever you are, my friends, and be safe.
