Quyanaqpak to the hunters and providers for the great food from or lands, waters and skies.. Our Father in Heaven, we give thanks for the pleasure of gathering together for this occasion. We give thanks for this food prepared by loving hands. we give thanks for life, the freedom to enjoy it all, and all other blessings. As we partake of this food, we pray for health and strength to carry on and try to live as You would have us. This we ask in the name of Christ, Our Heavenly Father. Amen. Hearing the wonderful hunting stories from family just makes me wish I was able to follow and get away from here for awhile. I need time to heal, reflect on life, to soothe my soul and regain my spirit. This passed trip up to our cabin on the lake, I heard amazing stories of the simple life and of real living and survival. My mother Marie father Edward and brother Tigluk headed up for a hunting trip before Thanksgiving. One day my mom was ice fishing and dropped her iPhone down the hole! Its a good thing she had her case on because six hours later luckily she hooked it back out! Im not sure of its working yet. My brother had many stories of hunting caribou on the steep slopes with a life or death close call which luckily he managed to get out of. He also spoke of the most amazing northern lights display that spiraled perfectly among millions of stars in the dark nights. There was also a giant black wolf that managed to get away. My brother said it was twilight huge :) Oh, how I wish to be there in our cabin on the lake. Monster iqaluaqpak, and the record for he biggest is yet to be beat. My dad says he remembers of a 69 or 59 inch one caught many years ago. I got my 42 last spring and I think out families record is 46 but not too sure. Also thanks to the hunters of 2nd fish hole for the fresh sheep meat. I have been blest with the very best eating that anyone could ask for. Imniaq aminilik, fresh quaq, tuttu, fresh fish and fresh bread and the gift of he agviq, and so much more..Thanks to my creator for the bountiful harvest for our upcoming thanksgiving feast! Im thankful for family, friends, food, and for life
