R&D Engineer Flowserve - Bangalore, Karnataka IN_EN_50_64_R&D Engineer_Senior Accountabilities • Design, analyze, validate and support current and future actuator product designs including; 1.Pneumatic piston actuators and controls 2.Hydraulic piston actuators and controls 3.Direct HP gas actuators and controls 4.Gas/Oil actuators and controls 5.Electro-hydraulic actuators and controls 6.Linear actuators, hydraulic and pneumatic 7.Subsea actuators and controls of various types • Design or select control components including manifolds, directional control valves, hydraulic power units, accumulators, switches, junction boxes, and related equipment. • Design, develop, implement, and maintain product configurator application tools to support Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operational goals. • Contribute technical skills from previous experience to support new product development through guidance and hands-on engineering. • Coordinate product approvals for hazardous areas and safety systems, e.g. (ATEX, SIL, PED, ASME, CSA, FM, etc.) • Ensure that new product development projects are executed to achieve cost and schedule objectives. • Control product design through the engineering change (ECO) process. • Provide technical support to service, sales, production, and other departments for current and legacy products. • Support manufacturing through design-for-manufacture techniques to ensure that quality products are produced at minimal efficient cost. • Review engineering-related non-conformances (NCR), determine root causes, and establish corrective actions. • Follow a set of common global processes by which the above activities will be governed, tracked, and reported. • Conduct business in professional and ethical manner consistent with the FLS Code of Business Conduct. Position Requirements • Four year engineering degree is required (Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing or Electrical). Must be comparable / equivalent to a US BS degree in one of the listed disciplines. An MS is preferred. • A minimum of 5-8 years of fluid power actuator engineering experience. • Experience in leading application and new product development engineering efforts in a functional organization in a matrix environment. • Good business experience and skills with a proven record of achieving excellent results. • Experience applying modern design and quality methods (FEA, FMEDA, etc.) • Advanced skills with SolidWorks modeling software and associated analysis tools. • Familiar with leading international product test and certification programs. • High level of autonomy when operating in a minimally structured environment • Open and positive personality with a problem solving attitude. • Ability to travel independently and internationally in excess of 50% of the time unconditionally. • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. • Excellent English communication skills both oral and written • Multiple language skills are strongly desirable (French, German, Italian)
