R.I.P. - ELI WALLACH (1915–2014) One of Hollywoods finest character / Method actors, Eli Wallach was in demand for over 60 years (first film/TV role was 1949) on stage and screen and has worked alongside the biggest stars, including Clark Gable, Clint Eastwood, Steve McQueen, Marilyn Monroe, Yul Brynner, Peter OToole, and Al Pacino, to name but a few. Honored with a special Oscar in 2010, Wallach noted in his acceptance speech, As an actor Ive played more bandits, thieves, warlords, molesters and Mafiosi than you could shake a stick at. But, he noted, as a civilian his hobbies included quietly collecting antique clocks and watching tennis. He also said that he had recently received a letter from the Pope, who told Wallach his favorite movie was The Magnificent Seven.
