R.I.P. JACK BRUCE ... Wow, classic rockers are dropping left and right :( ... Hell forever be remembered as the bass player and lead vocalist for CREAM, one of the first (if not THE first) supergroup Power Trios, formed by Jack, Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton ... Want proof of the bands influence? Well, just think about the amazing guitar/bass/drum Power Trios that followed (The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Grand Funk, ZZ Top, and Rush come to mind!) ... This film clip is from 46 years ago, and showcases one of my favorite songs by this legendary band ... Jack Bruce also will be remembered for popularizing his iconic 4-string Gibson SG bass (a design which, for the most part, had previously been mostly associated with the SG 6-string electric guitar) ... And, Jack DEFINITELY was an influence on me impulsively buying a used bass one afternoon for $25 at a Pompano Beach music store, and then forming a garage band with a couple of other kids from Pine Crest (perhaps a foreshadowing of what Benny Qualmann and Charlie Qualmann would do about 35 years later!) ... Ironically, the first song we ever learned was WHITE ROOM! ... thanks for the great music, Mr. Bruce https://youtube/watch?v=-BGlFsf9DM8
