RACE OF CHAMPIONS DIRT MODIFIED TOUR THIS WEDNESDAY AT I-88 SPEEDWAY. BOBBY VARIN TAKES POINT LEAD INTO 60 LAPPER. BINGHAMTON, NY…The Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour makes a stop this Wednesday at the I-88 Speedway in Afton, NY. The 60 lap affair will see the best Modified talent battling wheel to wheel at the popular I-88 Speedway Fairground facility. Racing gets underway at 7:00 p.m. this Wednesday night. Bobby Varin continues the lead the RoC Dirt Modified Tour point standings entering this Wednesday night’s event. Varin has 240 markers with former RoC Champion Stewart Friesen who currently sits in second with 234 points. Matt Sheppard (207), Ryan Godown (192), Billy Decker (190), Danny Johnson (173), Rick Laubach (172), Mike Mahaney (163), Jimmy Horton (158) and Neal Williams (149) are currently the top ten in the standings. Mike Mahaney was last year’s winner of this event as he would like nothing more than to take advantage of his home track knowledge and try to back it up with another victory in this year’s RoC 60. Two Guaranteed Starter Races will give a second chance to some of the teams that failed to qualify for the recently held RoC “Clash at the Can”. All of the teams that did not qualify will go in to two Guaranteed Starter races to start the evening of action. The race winner in each will be locked in to the starting field in the RoC 60 lap special. They will then be able to better their starting position through traditional heat races.
